After one week of intense and inspiring competitions across six skills sectors for 1,354 competitors from 63 countries and territories, WorldSkills Kazan 2019 came to an end on August 27^th with a magical closing ceremony.

WorldSkills 2019 marked the 7^th time that Viet Nam entered the Competition. This year the team achieved its best result ever with one silver medal in CNC Milling, and another 8 Medallions of Excellence. With this amazing result Viet Nam ranks 25 among 63 participating countries.

As a first-time participant in Water Technology, Viet Nam was proudly awarded with a Medallion of Excellence for Nguyen Thai Phuong. Phuong also won a Sustainable Practice Award given to competitors with the most efficient use of materials, water and energy. Phuong’s solid technical skills and sustainable, environmental-friendly approach to work showcased the quality of training he received at the HCMC Vocational College of Technology (HVCT) under the cooperative programme based on German standards.

With ever-increasing efforts to improve the quality of vocational and training for a skilled workforce, Vietnam’s confidently looking forward to the next challenge at WorldSkills 2021 in Shanghai, China.
