Vietnam wins bronze at World Skills Competition

Nguyen Duy Thanh, a student from the Ho Chi Minh University of Industry, won the bronze medal at the 43rd World Skills Competition (WSC) in Brazil, making it the first medal won by the Vietnamese delegation in its five years of participation at the event. (source from Nhan Dan online Newspaper)

Thanh earned 535 out of 600 points in the category of information technology software solutions for business. He was also presented with the ‘Best of the Nation’ award, which honoured the competitor earning the highest points or highest medal for their country’s or region’s team.

The Vietnamese delegation also brought home eight Medallions of Excellence in the categories of web design, welding, mechanical engineering design, CAD, bricklaying, computer numerical controlled (CNC) milling, plumbing, and mechatronics. Read full articles here!
