VCMI and partners are prepared for the development of training for the new occupation “Electronics for Energy and Building Technology”

Twelve leaders from relevant departments of the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET), Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), Dong Nai Provincial Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (DoLISA Dong Nai), Ho Chi Minh City Association of Mechanics and Electrics (HAMEE), Vietnam Federation of Construction Associations and Vocational College of Machinery and Irrigation (VCMI) have successfully completed the further training and study tour on the development and implementation of demand-driven and practice oriented vocational training offers, focusing on the occupation “Electronics Technician for Energy and Building Technology” in Germany from 26 August, 2018 to 8 September 2018.

Speaking about the further training and study tour, Mr. Nguyen Viet Vinh, Specialist of the Department of Formal Training, DVET said “The training and fact-finding visits were extremely useful for me and my work”. Mr. Huynh Van Tinh, Director of DoLISA Dong Nai emphasized “I am convinced that enterprises play crucial roles in ensuring demand-driven and practice-oriented training offers are developed and implemented to meet the requirements of green and sustainable economic growth.” 

During the further training and study tour, the participants received inputs on the German vocational dual training system, development and implementation of curricula for new occupations, German examination model in vocational training, role of different stakeholders and their cooperation in the dual system and quality management for vocational schools at the Hessen State Institute for Advanced Technical Training (Hessische Landesstelle fuer Technologiefortbildung). They also paid working visits to the German Federal Institute of Vocational Education and Training (BIBB), various vocational schools, enterprises which provide practical training, Chambers of Crafts and Trades (HWK) and business associations.

The further training and study tour was organised by the Bund Länder Programm “Capacity Development for Energy and Resource Efficiency: Hessen – Vietnam”, which is financed by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The Bund Länder Programm complements the activities of the Vietnamese-German Programme “Reform of TVET in Vietnam” implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of BMZ, by providing further training for teachers and managers of the Vocational College of Machinery and Irrigation (VCMI) and relevant personnel from ministries, enterprises and sector associations which cooperate with the college to develop and implement training for two new occupations namely “Electronics for Energy and Building Technology” and “Plant Mechanics for Sanitary, Heating and Climate Technology”.
