LILAMA 2 International Technology College (LILAMA 2), with the support of the Viet Nam -German Cooperation programme “Reform of TVET in Viet Nam”, in collaboration with companies and sector associations partner have developed and successfully piloted four training programs of college-level orientation of German standards on Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics, Metal Cutting – CNC and Construction Mechanics. The training programs are implemented at LILAMA 2 and partner companies, where students can improve their practical skills and work ethic at the real work environment.
With the aims of sharing lessons learned in the implementation process as well as to support the replication of these cooperative training programmes for TVET institutes in Vietnam, the Programme “Reform of TVET in Viet Nam” collaborated with the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) and LILAMA 2 in holding the workshop on “Implementation of Piloted German Standard-based Training Programmes at TVET institutes” on 6th December 2019 in Ho Chi Minh City.
Attending the workshop, representatives of DVET, Departments of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (DoLISA) of Ho Chi Minh City, Bac Ninh Province and Dong Nai Province together with the rectors, vice rectors and key leaders of 20 TVET institutes across the country are introduced the whole process of preparing and implementing cooperative programmes, from the programmes development, training implementation at LILAMA 2 and partner companies to the trainees’ competencies evaluation during the training and the final examination. In addition, LILAMA 2 also shares the challenges and lessons learned in attracting companies to participate in the cooperative training model implementation. At the workshop, representatives of TVET institutes and DoLISAs are handed over the training programmes along with teaching materials of four occupations which compiled in accordance with German standards and Vietnamese conditions adaptation.
The workshop was also a chance for LILAMA 2 to share achievements after the first 3 years of piloting the cooperative training model. These valuable shares would help leaders of other institutes to be able to successfully implement this model at their institutions.
The workshop was organised within the component “Support for Centres of Excellence for TVET” as part of the Vietnamese-German “Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam”. The programme is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) together with the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA).
