The training workshop on Engine diagnostics and Car maintenance for teachers of Automotive Technology Faculty was conducted at Vietnamese – German Technical College of Ha Tinh from October 3rd to October 5th, 2023. The course was organised under cooperation framework between Programme “Reform of Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Viet Nam”-GIZ and the college.
In this training, Mr. Alwin Matthias Angert – Development Advisor shared knowledge on difficulties in maintenance with the latest technology and diagnostics of engines under service condition. All participants discussed and figured out the critical points that they would train trainees like maintenance process, maintenance checklist, how to communicate with customers and deal with hard situations. To improve the training quality, the market-orientation of training helps trainees quickly access necessary and practice skills.
Besides, Mr. Matthias imparted knowledge and skills to diagnose the condition of an engine (petrol-diesel). This knowledge helps to precisely identify wear and tear and damage to an engine. All participants practiced the different measurement methods by procured items supported by GIZ such as Endoscope, Compression pressure recorder. The Development Advisor also emphasised the safety instructions during diagnostic process. In addition, teachers and GIZ’s Development Advisor discussed constructive ideas to supplement the experience and knowledge that will be applied for engine diagnostics training purpose at the college.
Speaking at the training, Mr. Doan Minh Hien – Dean of Automotive Technology Faculty shared: “This was a very useful and necessary training for teachers of the Automotive Technology Faculty. Teachers had the opportunity to deepen their technical topics and collect suggestions for the current training curriculum. It’s extremely important for trainees to practice in order to meet the requirement of the labor market”. At the end of the training, all the teachers gave positive feedback about the contents and outcomes of the training.
The Vietnamese – German Technical College of Ha Tinh is supported by the Vietnamese-German Programme “Reform of TVET in Viet Nam” in developing into a high-quality TVET institute.
