Training on electrical engineering basic principles at Ninh Thuan Vocational College

On 23/12/2022, GIZ’s Development Advisor (DA) Mirco Rudolph conducted a training on electrical engineering basic principles with the goal to implement the objective of improving the quality and market orientation of technical vocational education within the framework of the Programme “Reform of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Vietnam”- GIZ.

The training course focused on improving teachers’ capacity on how to use basic electrical engineering principles for designing electrical installations in theory and praxis. Improving the quality of teaching and applying knowledge of basic electrical engineering principles to the renewable energy vocational programme is also important.

The main contents of the training are giving an introduction on project steps according to German standards like project information phase; calculating ampacity of wires, voltage drop and max. cable length; choosing correct fuses and circuit breakers; designing correct earthing systems and using correct wiring color code. During the training, the participants were guided through the concepts of theoretical knowledge and given some assignments.

After the training, the teachers are confident in having a clear overview over the electrical engineering basic principles as well as applying the given knowledge on designing electrical circuits and teaching.
