A training course on “Automation system in smart factory” was delivered to 08 teachers of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department from August 21st to September 5th, 2023. The course was organized by Bac Ninh College of Industry with the support of Programme Reform of TVET in Vietnam. This comprehensive training course, therefore, aims to equip the teachers with the practical knowledge and skills to understand and implement automation solutions in a smart factory environment.
The training course comprised 02 parts, while the theoretical part was led by Dr. Vu Quang Khue (Vice Rector of BCI cum teacher of Electronics), the practical part was provided by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Vui (teacher of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department). The theoretical part covered basic knowledge on smart factory, Industry 4.0, and industrial smart sensors. The practical part dealt with programming and controlling Siemens PLCs using TIA Portal, designing user-friendly HMIs and SCADA systems for a simple application; finally, the trainees had to apply acquired knowledge and skills to design and install a simplified supervisory control system collaboratively in team of two persons. The training sessions were conducted in presentations, group discussions, tutorial guide, and teamwork assignment. The training materials were designed and uploaded to LMS system of BCI for further online learning.
The training contents of this course has been highly rated due to its importance in preparing essential knowledge and skills for teachers for future teaching of specialized modules of Industrial Electronics Training Program in German standards. Moreover, this course did give chance for the teachers to exchange, learn, and update technological advances in the fields of Industrial Electronics and Automation.
