The Vietnamese delegation headed by Madam Nguyen Hoa Hiep – Vice Chairperson of Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee successfully completed the Second Green TVET Study Tour in Germany on 4 June 2017. Members of delegation consist of Mr Pham Van Cong – Deputy Director of Dong Nai DoLISA, Dr Nguyen Quang Viet – Vice Director of the National Institute of Vocational Training (NIVT), Mr Do Van Giang, Deputy Director of Formal Training Department of GDVT , Dr Nguyen Van Chuong – Director of the Vocational College of Machinery and Irrigation (VCMI), Ms Nguyen Thi Hang- Director of Ho Chi Minh City Vocational College of Technology (HVCT), Ms Vu Thi Ninh- Director of Bureau for Employers’ Activities and Labour Affairs of VCCI, representatives of LILAMA2 International College of Technology (LILAMA2) and Programme Reform of TVET.
The 7-day study tour aimed to familiarize and raise the awareness of the delegates on green TVET with focus on the strategic development of the Vocational College of Machinery and Irrigation (VCMI) as the future Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Green TVET and to provide opportunities for exchanges and discussion on how to best support green TVET at both policy and implementation level.
The delegation had working sessions with the Hessian Ministry of Economics, the German Federal Institute of Vocational and Training (BiBB), the Rhein Main Chamber of Commerce and Industry. They also visited the Hessian Institute of Advanced Training in Technology (HLFT), where 13 teachers from VCMI and LILAMA 2 were undertaking an 11-week training course on renewable energy, energy efficiency, didactic pedagogy in green TVET and a number of other TVET training institutes in Germany.
Vietnam and Germany agreed on the development of the Vocational College for Mechanics and Irrigation (VCMI) towards a regional CoE for Green TVET. The Green TVET Initiative (financed by BMZ and the Federal State of Hessen) is supporting the Vietnamese-German Development Cooperation in TVET by providing further training for VCMI teaching staff and managers in areas and occupations to be conducted by the college to fulfill its mission as the CoE for Green TVET.
