28 eligible students were assessed on their comprehensive abilities through both theoretical and practical sessions of the exams. In the practical session, the students were required to complete the production process of a finished product including reading engineering drawings, planning the steps of manufacturing, and machining raw materials on universal milling and lathe machines. Additionally, they had to engage in technical questioning session with the examiners, measure the finished product, and clean the workstations following the 5S standards. The examination committees consisted of BCI’s teachers and technical experts and in-company trainers from local partners. These partner companies have been involved throughout the process, not only in the development of the training programme, but also in training delivery, training on monitoring procedures and assessment of trainees during the AP1 Examination.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Tuyen, Production Supervisor at Hitachi Energy, a member of the examination committees, commented on the exam “The college took the significant efforts to collaborate with partner companies to prepare and implement the AP1 exam for students effectively. Following this AP1 exam, students should focus on increasing their hands-on practice on machines to develop their skills and industrial habits in preparation for the upcoming AP2 exam. Additionally, they should pay more attention to occupational safety in production”.

After 4 days of AP1 exams, all 28 students successfully passed fulfilling the technical requirements and criteria. This AP1 exam was conducted safely, adhering to the regulations and procedures of the German standard-oriented training programme, with strict monitoring to ensure natural objectivity and accuracy.
