On August 30th, 2023, the Annual Industrial Advisory Board Meeting (IAB) in 2023 for Metal Cutting and Industrial Electronics was held in Bac Ninh College of Industry (BCI). This is a periodical activity of IAB to give assessment on cooperative training models of Metal Cutting and Industrial Electronics, review and update existing training programmes, plan and develop the cooperative models among stakeholders.
The meeting gathered representatives from Department of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs of Bac Ninh Province (DOLISA), Bac Ninh Industrial Zone Management Board, Program Reform of TVET in Viet Nam (GIZ-TVET), BCI’s Management Board, BCI’s teachers and member enterprises of the IAB for Metal Cutting and Industrial Electronics.
In presentation session, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (Dean of Mechanical Engineering of BCI) and Mr. Tran Trung Hau (Dean of Electrical Engineering) presented summary reports of cooperative training programmes progress and upcoming plan for Metal Cutting and Industrial Electronics occupations. Mr. Mario Afonso Esteves da Silva (GIZ-TVET) followed by a presentation on review of existing cooperative models between BCI and partner enterprises as well as raised skills need for technical students of BCI and TVET students as a whole.
The discussion session, led by Mr. Nguyen Duc Luu (BCI Rector), Mr. Nguyen Quang Tuan (Head of Vocational Training Management Department – DOLISA), Mr. Nguyen Dinh Duong (Head of Training Department – Goertek Co.Ltd.), focusing on how to improve the efficiency of cooperative training programs of Metal Cutting and Industrial Electronics in the coming period. All participants had an in-depth discussion on improving additional skills for students under cooperative training programs (soft skills, digital skills, working attitude and discipline, self-learning skill, labour safety and hygiene, etc.). Other common topics of interest include promoting various exchange activities, recruiting and retain high quality staff, job promotion and counselling for graduates.
IAB meeting is held twice per year, and this is the first meeting for Metal Cutting and Industrial Electronics in 2023. The next meeting is scheduled for the end of December.
This activity is carried out within the framework of the Component “Support of High Quality TVET Institutes”, under the Viet Nam-Germany Cooperation Programme “Reform of TVET in Viet Nam”. The Programme “Reform of TVET in Viet Nam” is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) together with the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA).
