Within the framework of joint activities between the Programme “Reform of TVET in Vietnam II”-GIZ and its eleven partner colleges, the “Technical Exchange and Review Workshop for the Period 2020-2023” recently took place in Long Xuyen (An Giang Province) on 25 and 26.12.2023. This workshop brought together 33 Directors and Deputy Directors from eleven partner colleges and relevant GIZ experts to evaluate the effectiveness of implemented activities, address challenges and proposing solutions, while drawing essential lessons for future endeavors. The overarching objectives included assessing the progress of partner colleges in alignment with the criteria of high-quality vocational colleges, amidst the restructuring and financial autonomy of the TVET institutes network.
Key thematic areas covered during the workshop encompassed digital transformation, greening of vocational colleges, and the implementation of training programs oriented to German standards. Additionally, the participants engaged in insightful discussions and exchanges, sharing experiences and expertise to foster improvements in the cooperative efforts.
As part of the workshop, the delegates also embarked on a visit to An Giang Vocational College and its partner enterprises, gaining valuable insights into the practical implementation of German standard oriented training programme of mechatronics under the cooperative training model. The workshop emerged as a pivotal platform for constructive dialogue and learning, paving the way for continued advancements of the partner colleges towards high quality TVET institutes.
Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai, Director of An Giang Vocational College stated “Support from Programme “Reform of TVET in Vietnam II”-GIZ has made significant changes in our colleges, especially regarding strategic organisational development, digital transformation, quality assurance, cooperation with the business sector and greening. We are also much benefited from exchanges, cooperation and sharing of expertise and resources among the eleven colleges.”
This activity was held within the component “Supporting High-Quality TVET Institutes”, supported by the Programme “Reform of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Viet Nam”- on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in cooperation with the Vietnamese Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET).
