Signing Ceremony on the cooperation in the field of capacity development for the wastewater sector

Today, the Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association (VWSA), the Wastewater Management Programme (WMP) implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Ministry of Construction (MoC), the Programme Reform of Technical and Vocational Training and Education in Viet Nam implemented by General Directorate for Vocational Training (GDVT) of MoLISA and GIZ at Ho Chi Minh Vocational College of Technology (HVCT), and the Project Deutsch-Vietnamesische Verbandspartnerschaft zur Kompetenzentwicklung im vietnamesischen Wassersektor (DEVIWAS) implemented by the German Water Partnership (GWP) signed the agreement on the cooperation in the field of capacity development for the wastewater sector.

The three programmes implemented on behalf of the Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) agreed on supporting and cooperating with VWSA in fulfilling its mission to “together, unite, encourage members to enhance their knowledge, to exchange information on scientific as well as technological management, economics, to contribute a continuous sector development in Vietnam”.

Based on the principles of mutual benefit, the partners will jointly work towards the following intended results:

  • Capacity development through training offers in the wastewater sector meets the demand.
  • VWSA is an effective and efficient organization to offer services for the wastewater sector and is a reliable partner for capacity development for enterprises.
  • Further training courses in the wastewater sector provided by the programs and VWSA are harmonized avoiding overlaps and inefficient use of funds.
