“The Prime Minister has signed Decision 1363/QĐ-TTg on approving the adjustments of the project “Development of high-quality colleges until 2025”. I would like to thank the Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam (GIZ) for your support and effective advice during the process of adjustment of the criteria and standards for high-quality colleges” – Ms. Khuong Thi Nhan, Director of the National Target Programme Management Unit of the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET), emphasized during her opening speech at the training course on the internal evaluation based on the adjusted criteria and standards for high-quality colleges.
The training course was jointly organized by DVET and the Programme “Reform of TVET in Viet Nam” (GIZ) at the Hanoi College of Electromechanics on October 23th, 2019. Aimed at supporting the eight colleges that are piloting the assessment of high-quality colleges in 2019 in gaining a common understanding of the criteria and standards, the training also provided a good opportunity for rectors/vice rectors and staff from these colleges to share experiences during the implementation of the internal evaluation.
“These criteria and standards contain new and crucial aspects such as cooperative training with enterprises, greening TVET & additional functions that could potentially feedback good practices into the system. These aspects show the differences between high-quality colleges and other colleges in the system”, Mr. Nguyen Hong Hung, Head of Examination and Quality Assurance of Viet Nam Korean Industrial Technology College, stated during the training course. This training course was the first of a series of activities within the cooperation framework between DVET and the Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam (GIZ) in piloting the assessment of eight colleges based on the revised criteria and standards for high-quality colleges in 2019.
“I do hope that the fulfilment of the requirements of the criteria and standards will contribute to the quality improvement of colleges as well as the whole TVET system” Ms. Britta van Erckelens, Deputy Programme Director of Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam mentioned.
