Further training of TVET institute trainers on MIG/MAG welding

Lilama2 College, Dong Nai, 17/6 – 05/7/2013

This course on MIG/MAG welding was designed to enable TVET institute teachers/instructors to deliver high quality training to other trainers at their colleges on both technical and didactic-methodology approaches and also to their students on an effective training approach. During the training course, various specific welding techniques as followed by international standards were introduced and applied to different welding materials, of which aluminum is a material which requires a high skill to work with but is not very regularly used at vocational institutes in Viet Nam due to its high cost.

The course was in the series of planned capacity building measures for teachers/instructors from TVET partner institutes of the Vietnamese – German “Programme Vocational Training 2008”, and was organised by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the General Department of Vocational Training (GDVT) in close cooperation with the Lilama2 College.

There were 14 teachers and instructors (02 from each TVET partner institute) and two multipliers participating and the course was conducted by two certified welding trainers of Lilama2 who provided their technical expertise and practical skills as well as best practice examples from their longstanding industrial work experience. The assessment confirmed that all participants completed the course successfully with a great competence achievement. Some of the specialized welding skills they have learnt, they never practiced before.
