From Magdeburg to Ho Chi Minh

The German State of Sachsen-Anhalt goes Viet Nam. State Secretary Mr. Thomas Wünsch, Ministry of Economy, Science and Digitalization, and his delegation paid an official visit to LILAMA 2 Technical and Technology College (LILAMA 2) on 09 December 2016.

Since 2004, Sachsen-Anhalt is represented in Viet Nam to tighten the economic relationship. Especially LILAMA 2 has strong ties with Sachsen-Anhalt by cooperating for many years with the training provider EBG or GIZ´s Academy for International Cooperation in Magdeburg.

State Secretary Wünsch appreciated the state-of-the -art workshops and strategic vision of the college towards becoming a Centre of Excellence for TVET in Viet Nam and the region.

The delegation had a tour through the premises and practical workshops for Hand Operated Tools, Conventional Metal Cutting and CNC, Welding, Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Production as well as Professional Electrical Engineering and Electronics. They openly discussed with the management board of LILAMA2 and German experts about the opportunities and challenges such as systemic requirements or employment possibilities for graduates. State Secretary Wünsch emphasized the very high importance of skilled labour for economic development in Viet Nam.

The visit shows once more the international network of LILAMA 2 for providing demand-oriented initial and further technical and vocational education and training based on international standards.
