First Aid training course is organized at Nha Trang College of Technology

In order to provide trainers and students with knowledge and skills to manage better the dangerous accidents such as burns, bleeding, broken bones, … which can happen during training or in daily life, Nha Trang College of Technology in collaboration with GIZ organized a one-day propagation and training course on basic First Aid on April 22, 2022.

In the practical training, the medical teachers imparted knowledge and skills in basic First Aid, initial scene assessment, cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedure (CPR), bleeding control, First Aid for burns and techniques of moving the victims. Thereby, teachers and students can react promptly when they suddenly encounter accidents or emergency situations before doctors arrive or victims are taken to the hospital. The teachers and students practiced the given contents under the supervision and detailed instructions of specialized medical teachers along with medical equipment purchased by GIZ.

In addition, Nha Trang College of Technology’s teachers directly spread general knowledge and information to students and aim to raise awareness of labor safety and industrial behaviors before students graduate and go to work at enterprises. “This is a really successful event, with many interested participants. The great interest shows that far more training will be needed in this area in the future. Hopefully, these will take place regularly in small groups at each workshop from now on.”, Mr. Matthias Angert – GIZ’s Development Advisor emphasized.

After the training, all the teachers and students gave positive feedback about the training contents and its outcomes. Ms. Phan Mai Phuong Duyen – Vice-Rector of Nha Trang College of Technology shared “This is a very useful activity not only for students but also for vocational teachers. This training should be held regularly every year so that everyone can get the basic medical knowledge about First Aid for vocational training as well as in daily life.”.

In order to increase awareness of First Aid continuously in teaching and learning work, the College will regularly propagate it via the website, fan page, billboards, and daily loudspeakers.
