In order to transfer practical knowledge and ensure that trainees taking part in the 4 pilot classes of Cooperative Training at LILAMA 2 International Technology College (LILAMA 2) can build up needed skills as well as practically apply them, so- called In-Company Trainers are a precondition. Usually, In-Company Trainers are well-skilled and experienced technicians that additionally fulfil the function as trainers for trainees in In-Company Training phases during the Cooperative Training.
Eight companies sent almost 20 participants to the first Training Course for In-Company Trainers as preparation for In-Company Training phases in Metal Cutting-CNC, Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics and Construction Mechanics. Additionally, 10 teaching staff from LILAMA 2 attended the training course. The Training Course, conducted by two German experts from the Chamber of Crafts Potsdam (HWK Potsdam), Mr Andreas Schmidt and Mr Joachim Werner, took place at LILAMA 2 and in two participating companies from 2 to 6 October 2017.
During the training course, the participants were familiarised with Cooperative Training in Germany as international best practice and the Training Programmes of the four supported occupations. Furthermore, participants were introduced to instruments for planning, implementing and assessing In-Company Training phases and had the chance to practically apply them. In addition, the trainers from Germany introduced several teaching and learning methods for In-Company Training phases. These were presented practically in LILAMA 2 workshops and also practically applied by participants at their companies or in LILAMA 2 workshops.
The training was held within the field of activity “Support of Centres of Excellence (CoEs)” as part of the Vietnamese-German Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam. The programme is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
