Graduation Ceremony for students of the first pilot class K40 – German standard oriented cooperative training programme at VCMI

The graduation ceremony for 30 students of K40 pilot classes of the two occupations: Mechanics for Sanitary, Heating and Climate Technology (SHK) and Electronics for Energy and Building Technology (EEB) was successfully organized in the morning of December 17, 2023 with the participation of the Rector Board – the College of Machinery and Irrigation (VCMI), the Digital Ambassador of the Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam (TVET Programme) – Ms. Lisa Duscheck, along with all teachers and students’ families.

Opening the ceremony, the Rector – Dr. Nguyen Van Chuong affirmed: “The cooperative training model of the two new occupations SHK and EEB which have been implemented by VCMI and partner companies with the support of TVET programme is very effective to develop high-quality human resources, meeting the demands of the Green economy”. He expressed his pride and confidence in the future employment opportunities for the students after completing the German standard-oriented cooperative training programmes. In 2019, the Chamber of Skilled Crafts Aachen (Germany) confirmed the equivalence of the training programme to the German ordinance on vocational education and training. The final examination content and procedures were also recognized as equivalent to German examination standards by the Chamber of Skilled Crafts Erfurt (Germany) in 2023.

After the speech, 30 students of the pilot classes honorably received graduation diplomas from the VCMI Rector and the acknowledgements of completing the German standard-oriented cooperative training programme and final examination by Ms Lisa Duscheck, getting ready to build their own future careers.

This activity was within the component “Supporting High-Quality TVET Institutes”, supported by the Programme “Reform of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Viet Nam” – on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in cooperation with the Vietnamese Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET).
