Further training “On-the-job installation and usage of HVAC system in Vietnam” for VCMI key teachers and students and in-company trainers from partner company

Based on the goal to strengthen cooperation between partner companies and TVET institutes as well as developing capacity for teachers of the occupation “Mechanics for Sanitary, Heating and Climate Technology” (SHK) at the College of Machinery and Irrigation (VCMI) – “High-Quality Institute for Green TVET”, technical staff and in-company trainers of the partner company, the Programme “Reform of TVET in Viet Nam” (TVET Programme) coordinated with the Business Scouts for Development (BSfD Programme) to successfully organize a training course “On-the-job installation and usage of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system in Vietnam” at VCMI workshops and the construction site of the Vietnam Heat Refrigeration – Electrical Mechanical Trading and Service Company Limited (Vina Engineer) from November 6th to 10th, 2023. The training course was taught by an international training expert – Mr. Ruben Ziehler, with the participation of 06 key teachers, 10 SHK students and 04 representatives from Vina Engineer, who are also in-company trainers for SHK occupation at VCMI.

The participants have enhanced their capacity in occupational safety, installation, maintenance, and repair of ventilation and air conditioning systems according to German standards. The VCMI teachers and students of SHK occupations had the opportunity to visit construction sites in reality, observe and participate in construction work to gain practical experience, aligning the training content with the business demand.

At the workshop of VCMI, teachers, students and in-company trainers enhanced their knowledge and skills on the operation and maintenance of ventilation and air conditioning systems, solar hot water supply systems on training models designed based on German standards.

“We have received very practical and valuable feedback from our training expert – Mr. Ruben Ziehler. We will definitely apply to the design and installation of our buildings in the future” – Mr. Dang Quoc Viet, Deputy Director of Vina Engineer shared his thoughts after taking the training course.

This training course was organized within the component “Supporting High-Quality TVET Institutes” as part of the Vietnamese-German “Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam”. The programme is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) together with the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA).
