“VCMI commits to share all related contents as well as our experience in implementing two German Standard training programmes!”

This was the sharing of Dr. Nguyen Van Chuong, Rector of the College of Machinery and Irrigation (VCMI) at the “Workshop on dissemination of German Standard Training Programmes at VCMI” on 31st October 2023. He confirmed: “As long as colleges are determined, implementing the two Green vocational training programmes will no longer be a challenge!

Continuing the success of the training activities and final examinations for the two German standard-oriented occupations “Mechanics for Sanitary, Heating and Climate Technology” and “Electronics for Energy and Building Technology”, VCMI has received positive feedback and high appreciations from various partners. The Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam (TVET Programme) has cooperated with VCMI to organise this workshop with aimsto introduce and share experience in implementing the two Green occupations.

Over 20 leaders and teaching staffs of eight TVET institutes in the system had the opportunity to visit the facilities and to be introduced to the two Green occupation oriented to German standards at VCMI. Participants highly appreciated the professionalism and fully equipped facilities to create the best environment for students to study and practice at VCMI. Mr. Tran Trung Dung, Vice Rector of Ninh Thuan Vocational College said: “Thanks to the discussions with VCMI teachers, our college now has more ideas to integrate, code, and adjust equipment at our college to optimize management, utilization and procurement.”

While introducing the structure, contents, conditions and experience of the training programmes’ implementation, VCMI received questions and ideas from other colleges. The topics of enrollment, occupational code registration, potential occupational assessment, business demands as well as job positions of students after graduation, were actively discussed by delegates and teachers of VCMI. In addition, disseminated colleges also participated in a discussion session to analyze the actual conditions including advantages and disadvantages, drafting plans to prepare and implement training programmes at their institutes in the future.

This activity was organised within the component “Supporting High-Quality TVET Institutes” as part of the Vietnamese – German Programme “Reform of TVET in Viet Nam”. The programme is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) together with the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA).
