On October 30, the Handover Ceremony – Certificate of final exam process and training programmes oriented to German standards for 2 occupations: “Mechanics for Sanitary, Heating and Climate Technology” (SHK) and “Electronics for Energy and Building Technology” (EEB) took place at the College of Machinery and Irrigation (VCMI). The representatives from Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Directorate of Vocational Education and Training, Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Dong Nai, the Chamber of Skilled Crafts (HwK) Erfurt, Germany, Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam (TVET Programme), leaders and teachers of VCMI and other TVET institutes participated actively in the event.
SHK and EEB are two occupations oriented on German standards, aiming to meet demands of the Green economy. Having been piloted since 2020 at VCMI, up until now 108 students at College level have been trained in these occupations. Final exam (Part 1&2) of the first pilot class, under the support and supervision of experts from HwK Erfurt, were conducted for 30 students successfully. Organization processes and assessing methods have been ensured to be equivalent to exams for skilled technicians in Germany, also adjusted to suit the conditions in Viet Nam. Preparation, implementation and assessment phases of final exams were implemented by examiners who are VCMI teachers and in-company trainers. These examiners participated in a training course in November 2022 and recognized as competent to assess German standard oriented exams by HwK Erfurt.
At the ceremony, representatives from HwK Erfurt awarded the “Certificate of final exam process oriented to German standards” for the two occupations EEB and SHK to VCMI.
Mr Dang Quoc Viet, Vice Director of Vina Engineer Company, stated: “Our company has cooperated with VCMI to train 3 classes with 40 students of SHK occupation and also participated in the final exam part 1. We highly appreciate the exam which was conducted with high quality, strictly followed regulations and instructions from HwK Erfurt experts. We believe and commit to continue cooperating with VCMI to implement cooperative training programmes in the future.”

With the success from implementing and assessing the two Green occupations oriented to German standards, VCMI shared experience and disseminated the training programmes to leaders and technical staff of interested TVET institutes.
Dr Cao Thanh Le, Rector of the Vietnamese – German Technical College of Hà Tĩnh, represented the disseminated TVET institutes to share his thoughts: “Through the successful pilot of the two occupations at VCMI, we highly rated the training programmes, which are in trends for technology and Greening TVET. We wish to be disseminated and will commit resources for implementation.”
SHK and EEB occupations at VCMI were supported by the Vietnamese-German cooperative programme “Reform of TVET in Viet Nam”. The programme is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by Deutssche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) together with the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA). The Programme aims to integrate TVET and the changing world of work, increasingly becoming Green and digitalized.
