Following three successful further trainings for female technicians in 2022, LILAMA 2 International Technology College (LILAMA 2) implemented the training course on Fundamental DIN/ISO Programming and Operations of CNC Turning and Milling Machines for young technicians and engineers of the industry from 13 – 22.04.2023.
In this training, 14 technicians and engineers, 3 of whom were women, from the manufacturing enterprises of Schaeffler, GS&EC, Duy Khanh Engineering, An Mi Tools, CNC Tech, Southcom gained know-how on DIN/ISO programming and simulation with the G-codes and basic Cycles of SINUMERIC as well as operating CNC machines. During the course, participants also practiced set-up on CNC turning and milling machines and produced their own workpieces.
Based on these products, each participant had their competencies assessed by LILAMA 2’s master trainers – Mr Nguyen Hong Tien and Mr Nguyen Trong Luc. After the assessment, all participants received certificates acknowledging their project-oriented assignment completion. With their newly gained competencies, the technicians can access smart manufacturing technologies and have more job opportunities in the machine tool sector.
Mr Nguyen Quoc Dung, a technician from Schaeffler Viet Nam remarked: “Before joining this training, I barely knew how to create CNC programmes and properly operate CNC machines. This training has opened my eyes to the principles behind the dogmatic steps I usually follow at my workplace, which allows me to correct basic operation mistakes by myself. Additionally, the foundation gained from the course also helps me develop my competencies related to CNC machines. With this advantage, I can have more opportunities for professional advancement and income increases.”The practice-oriented training course was conducted in the frame of the Development Partnership with the Private Sector (DPP) “Vocational Training for Smart Manufacturing in Machine Tools”. The DPP is implemented jointly by the cooperation partners Siemens Limited Company Vietnam, LILAMA 2 International Technology College and the Programme “Reform of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Vietnam” and supported by the develoPPP.de programme of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in cooperation with the Vietnamese Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET).
