In November and December 2022, the Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam (TVET Programme) in collaboration with Vietnam – Germany Technical College of Ha Tinh successfully co-organised the 2nd master trainer training for in-company trainers at college level. The training was organized in 13 days with 90 hours from 29 November to 16 December 2022 and divided into 3 training phases which combine onsite and online training format. Participants of the training are 26 representatives, of which 12 persons are from HQTIs and 14 persons form their business partners in Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Hai Phong, Hue, Ha Tinh, Nha Trang, Ninh Thuan, Da Lạt, Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh.
As stipulated in the Circular No.05/2022/TT-BLDTBXH on cooperative training between TVET Institutes and enterprises, in-company training can be part of the training cooperation arrangements between schools and enterprises. In 2020, with technical assistance of the Programme “Reform of TVET in Viet Nam” (TVET Programme), DVET issued a decision on the training programmes for in-company trainers/instructors (Decision No. 868/QD-TCGDNN). The training is one of TVET Programme’s continuing effort to further develop a pool of master trainers to later provide training for in-company trainers. The first master trainer training for in-company trainers at college level was held at LILAMA2 International Technology College in September and October 2022 and received positive feedback from participants, who are teachers at the supported HQTIs and their business partners in the Southern area. With the scale up purpose, the TVET Program continues to organize a second master trainer training for representatives of remaining supported HQTIs and their business partners.
Mr. Le Trong Nghia, a teacher at Bac Ninh College of Industry said: “The training provided me necessary teaching skills to train and develop skills for employees, apprentices and trainees in an in-company training. After the training, I can use variety sources of material and information shared by other trainees for my in-company training later. Moreover, the training is also a bridge to connect colleges and enterprises, helping them understand each other and reach the same perspective of training in TVET”.
According to Ms. Tran Thi Kim No, a HR Supervisor, Hanesbrands Vietnam Hue, the training had provided learners with new knowledge and methods to determine the output objectives and thereby develop a practical and effective in-company training programs. In addition, the training had given colleges and enterprises the opportunity to exchange and learn about the current conditions as well as the needs of each party so that they could better understand each other and take steps to improve cooperation in the area later.
After the training course, some cooperation training plans have been initiated between colleges and enterprise. Of which, an initiative on training cooperation between Hue Industrial College and Fischer Asia Company is noticeable one.
