Second batch of woman technicians enhanced their CNC competence at LILAMA2

LILAMA 2 International Technology College (LILAMA 2) continues to attract women for technical occupations. From 5 to 16 September,2022, the college implemented 5 toa second training course on Fundamental DIN/ISO Programming – CNC Turning and Milling for woman technicians and engineers in the industry. The ten-day training provides access for women to modern and intelligent production technologies and enhances their job opportunities in the machine tool sector. Participants weresix technicians and engineers of SHTPLabs, Cu Chi Power Company, Hoa Viet Paint Co., Quality Assurance and Testing Center No. 3, and and four fresh graduates from LILAMA 2 and the HCMC University of Technology and Education. They learned to develop and simulate CNC programmes with DIN/ISO programming code and SINUMERIK 840D and to basically operate and maintain CNC turning and milling machines. All participants passed the final examination and received a certificate on course completion that proves their new acquired professional competencies and shall promote their professional career.


Ms Dang Thanh Ngan from SHTPLabs expressed: “We had limited knowledge and experience in CNC technology, so we are grateful and happy to have the chance to explore this interesting occupation. I recognised my interest in this occupation after a few days of basic knowledge and skills training by dedicated LILAMA 2 teachers. I think I may pursue this occupation to advance my competencies in the field. From my perspective, the knowledge from this training is also relevant to QC processes at my company.”


The practice-oriented training course was conducted in the frame of the Development Partnership with the Private Sector (DPP) Vocational Training for Smart Manufacturing in Machine Tools. The DPP is implemented jointly by the cooperation partners Siemens Limited Company Vietnam, LILAMA 2 International Technology College and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH (represented by the Programme Reform of TVET in Vietnam) and supported by the develoPPP.de programme of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
