Within the framework of the Vietnam-Germany Cooperation Programme “Reform of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Vietnam”, from 23-25/08/2022, the workshop “Conflict management for leaders of TVET Institutes” was conducted in Ho Chi Minh City. The workshop supports leaders of TVET Institutes to gain conflict resolution knowledge and skills to improve effectiveness in leadership at their colleges.
During 3 days’ workshop, the participants were guided to understand conflict, the role of conflict in school management, common types of conflict, the origins of conflict, be aware of potential conflict situations in their organization. Participants also practiced analyzing important and typical conflict situations in their organization from different perspectives, the role of conflict in the development of the organization, thereby learning about different conflict resolution methods, strengthen conflict resolution skills as leaders and plan to apply the knowledge and skills accumulated at 11 partner colleges.
Talking about the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ninh – Vice Rector of Vietnamese German Technical College of Ha Tinh thought: “The content of the workshop is very useful and realistic that helps the leaders of 11 partner colleges of GIZ to improve management capacity”. Mr. Nguyen Thac Nghia – Vice Rector of Construction Technical College No. 1 also shared: “The workshop has provided useful knowledge and skills through vivid exercises to help participants to form management capacity, resolve conflicts in their TVET institutions. The real-life situations that discussed are valuable lessons learned for each participant to apply effectively in their work and daily life”.
This is an annual activity to develop the leadership and management capacity of the leaders of TVET Institutes according to international standards. This activity is carried out within the framework of the Component “Support of High Quality TVET Institutes”, under the Vietnam-Germany Cooperation Programme “Reform of TVET in Vietnam”.
The Programme “Reform of TVET in Viet Nam” is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) together with the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA).
