Online training course on “Possibilities and requirements of skilled migration to Germany”

‘This is such a tremendous opportunity to offer valuable and up-to-date information and practices about possibilities and requirements to migrate to Germany for training and working. By this, our officers who are working in MRCs (Migrant Resource Centres) or providing advice services to potential migrants will take up the optimal chances to strengthen their capacity and knowledge about migration procedures to Germany’, stated Mr Dang Si Dung, Deputy Director General of Department of Overseas Labour (DoLAB).

To provide better information about the main changes introduced by the Skilled Immigration Act (2020), and requirements for different visa and residence permits on the purpose of employment and training, a virtual training was organised by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) – the Programme Migration & Diaspora (PMD) in collaboration with DoLAB of Vietnam’s Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs on the 25th of November 2021.

The training course drove the attraction of 42 participants including representatives of the Department of Overseas Labour, Provincial Departments of Labor Invalid and Social Affairs, advisors of MRCs and Employment Service Centers of 12 provinces Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Hung Yen, Bac Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Phu Tho, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Ngai, Hue, Vinh Long and Can Tho.

After two informative presentations provided by Ms Michaelle Nintcheu and Ms Alexandra Köbler from the German Economic Institute, participants actively participated in a practical exercise quiz to review their gained knowledge on the Skilled Immigration Act and requirements of various residence permits. Specifically, group discussions about case studies and role-plays of migration advisors offered participants fascinating insights into different possible migration situations. This activity, furthermore, provided them the skills to find relevant information for adequately advising potential migrants. This were also the objectives of this training course that Mr Tomislav Ikic, the Project Manager of GIZ-PMD mentioned in his opening remarks.
