Strengthening vocational education and training (VET) is a matter of great concern of the Government of Viet Nam and its society. In the context of a demand-oriented VET development, it is crucial to establish an accurate and consistent system of VET concepts and terminologies to be utilised in VET research, policy and other VET relevant documents. Due to the complexity and continuous developments in VET, a regular review and update of VET terminologies is required to reflect the modifications of the VET system, policies, standards, processes and programmes.

The Glossary of VET Terminology is developed by the National Institute for Vocational Education and Training (NIVET) with the support of the Vietnamese-German Programme “Reform of TVET in Viet Nam”, implemented in cooperation with the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The Glossary also received technical advice from the Federal Institute for Vovational Education and Training (BIBB) in Germany.
