18 key teachers of LILAMA 2 International Technology College (LILAMA 2) passed a final examination from 25 – 29 October 2018. The examinations for the occupations Metal Cutting-CNC and Mechatronics Technicians were conducted by four official examiners dispatched by the Handwerkskammer (HWK) Erfurt, a competent authority in Germany.
Mr Holger Bustro and Mr Hartmut Stein, the two well experienced experts and examiners in Metal Cutting-CNC, elaborated that “it has become obvious that the key teachers build upon a solid foundation, on competencies that they have acquired during the previous metal cutting and mechatronics trainings as part of a comprehensive further training concept for TVET teachers and trainers in the region.”
Mr Helmut Schnepf, one of the examiners for Mechatronics explained further that “all 18 examination candidates mastered the challenge and have passed the exam. The majority of the teachers have reached good results of 82-91% and some were even outstanding by achieving impressive 96 %.
The chairman of the HWK examination committee and second examiner in Mechatronics, Mr Dirk Kittel, confirmed that “the examination has been organized and implemented according to German standards and examination regulations. LILAMA 2 has generated perfect conditions with well-equipped, modern training workshops, training programmes based on German standards and in particular, well qualified teachers. All those are prerequisites for providing high quality training comparable to high industrialised countries. The examination committee would like to congratulate LILAMA 2 to the outstanding result and encourages the teachers to apply their competences for the regular training of trainees and to continue on the path of life-long learning”
Mr Nguyen Hong Tien and Mr Kieu Tan Thoi, the team leaders in their respective occupations, stated that “it has been hard work to reach this competence level which is comparable to the final examination part 1 of skilled workers in Germany. Our team is glad to have passed this first milestone successfully. We all are very aware that the second part of the final examination is still in front of us and we will continue to practice and study to master that final part as well.”
In a next step, the competencies of the key teachers will be further developed and consolidated by trainings on manufacturing complex components and sub-assemblies by CNC machine tools such as 5-axis milling centre and turning with driven tools (C+Y axis) as well as GRAFCET programming.
The trainings and examinations are held within the field of activity “Support of Centres of Excellence (CoEs)” as part of the Vietnamese-German Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam. The programme is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
