New Electrics Workshop at Vocational College of Machinery & Irrigation is ready for training

On 8th March 2019, the new Electrics Workshop of the Vocational College of Machinery & Irrigation (VCMI) was open for the first group of trainees. This is the result of great efforts of teachers from VCMI’s Mechanics Faculty and Electrics – Electronics Faculty, together with support of Mr Bernd Meuer, Development Advisor from GIZ.

The plan for the establishment of the new workshop was made in October 2018 after the school management board discussed ideas, designs, lists of needed material and tools. During the last six months, VCMI’s staff worked hard to build up the training cabins, set up the workshop electricity systems, re-arrange and organise the new workshop. The new workshop it is now ready to provide a practical training environment for current trainees of VCMI. In the future, this will also be the training location for further training for teachers as well as relevant parts of the cooperative training programmes for the two new occupations namely “Electronics for Energy and Building Technology” and “Mechanics for Sanitary, Heating and Climate Technology”.

The activity is organised within the field of activity “Support of Centres of Excellence (CoEs) for TVET” as part of the Vietnamese-German Programme “Reform of TVET in Viet Nam”. The programme is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in cooperation with the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA).
