The further training course ”Manufacturing of Metal Constructions by MAG Welding Procedures” for metal technology teachers of LILAMA 2, Long An, An Giang and VCMI vocational colleges was conducted from 15.03-12.04.2019 at LILAMA 2 International Technology College in Long Thanh/Dong Nai.
Eleven pre-qualified practice trainers for Construction Mechanics acquired fundamental qualifications in joining different steel plates and profiles by Metal Active Gas (MAG) welding procedures.
Mr Lutz Dlugokinski, certified welding expert and trainer of the inter-company training center of the HWK (Chamber of Crafts) in Potsdam/Germany explained: “Next to extensive exercising of several welding processes and in different positions, the participants also implemented real metal construction projects according to welding procedure specifications (WPS) and welding sequence plans that the industry worldwide requires”. He added: “Everybody showed high motivation and improved their knowledge and skills continuously during the 120h training course.”
“Each of the participants had to complete his own project independently and two projects were carried out in group work” specified Mr. Jan Otto, the German co-trainer and Development Advisor for construction mechanics at LILAMA 2. He added: “Everyone proved necessary motivation, psychical and physical endurance as well as high team spirit for reaching good quality work results during the whole training period.”
“The further training deepened and consolidated our knowledge and skills in applying MAG welding procedures in our training lessons. We could also gain essential competencies in the planning and realisation of project works. Every one of us is excited to integrate those metal construction projects as soon as possible into the training process for our trainees in the college” said Mr Dang Xuan Trung, participant and teacher of VCMI in Dong Nai.
This and the following training courses are part of a comprehensive further training concept for teaching staff of LILAMA 2 College. The concept aims to build up the professional competence of teachers comparable to the competence of a German skilled worker in the industrial occupations Metal Cutting-CNC, Construction Mechanics, Industrial Electronics and Mechatronics.
The training is held within the field of activity “Support of Centres of Excellence (CoEs)”as part of the Vietnamese-German Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam. The programme is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in cooperation with the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA).
