TVET Teachers qualified in advanced operating and maintaining conventional machine tools

Sixteen metal cutting-CNC teachers enhanced their competence in the further training course “Manufacturing of Complex Work Pieces and Sub-Assemblies with Conventional Lathe and Milling Machines” from 06-17.08.2019 at LILAMA 2 International Technology College (LILAMA 2) in Dong Nai.

The 96 hour-training-course for TVET teachers of LILAMA 2, Vocational College of Machinery and Irrigation, Bac Ninh College of Industry, Long An Vocational College and An Giang Vocational College was conducted by the German trainer and expert in metal cutting-CNC, Mr. Hartmut Stein. “The training built up on previously acquired knowledge and skills of the teachers in technical communication and measuring technology. Further, they enhanced and deepened their technical competence in manufacturing of complex work pieces and sub-assemblies with conventional machine tools within the training.” explained Mr. Stein.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thiet from Bac Ninh emphasised at the end of the training course, “We really achieved the full understanding of machining workpieces made of steel and non-ferrous metals by conventional turning and milling procedures.” Mr. Do Van Long of LILAMA 2 added “We teachers are now aware of teaching machine tool operation in compliance with safety regulations. As well as, we are aware of the importance of preventive maintenance and how to integrate economic and environmental friendly aspects into our teaching and training of regular students from now onwards.

This training course was held within the component “Support for Centres of Excellence for TVET” as part of the Vietnamese-German “Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam”.
