Yesterday the signing ceremony for the cooperation between BOSCH Vietnam and the Lilama 2 Technical and Technological College was held in HCMC. The German Ambassador, H.E. Jutta Frasch, congratulated both sides for this great achievement by stressing that on one hand BOSCH as a very important German company in Vietnam; on the other hand Lilama 2 is an important pillar of the Vietnamese- German Technical and Vocational and Education and Training (TVET) Reform Programme.
The German Ambassador highlighted that TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) is one of the priority areas of our development cooperation with Vietnam. The Strategic Partnership between our two countries signed in 2011 by Chancellor Angela Merkel and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung paved the way for a further acceleration of our successful efforts to upgrade labour skills in this country. It also requested the inclusion of the private sector into our bilateral development programmes. Together with our implementing agencies GIZ and KfW as well as the Delegate of German Industry and Trade as well as the German Business Association Germany support Vietnam.
In this regard, an important milestone has been last year´s regional conference on vocational training organised by GIZ and MoLISA, where decision makers from governments and the private sector sent a joint signal:
For a quality breakthrough in vocational training it is imperative for the education system in Vietnam as well as in the neighboring ASEAN member states to include training capacities provided by private businesses in order to cover the tremendous demand for skilled labour.
The increased supply of skilled labour also implies a quality breakthrough in production which will be decisive for Vietnam´s competitiveness in an integrated ASEAN market by 2015.
The Ambassador wished BOSCH Vietnam and Lilama 2 a successful cooperation.
