Since 2013 up to now, the project “Vocational Training for the Wastewater Sector” under the Programme Reform of TVET in Vietnam, sponsored by Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), has focused on demand-oriented competency improvement in the pilot vocational training program in order to produce a higher-skilled workforce in the wastewater sector.
On behalf of BMZ, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) has provided support and consultation to Vietnamese partners in order to implement the training model of cooperation between schools and enterprises following German standards.
– As an implementer and a beneficiary, Ho Chi Minh Vocational College of Technology (HVCT) will provide pilot training models on “Sewage Engineering Technicians”.

The project has not only strengthened the partnership between the vocational training school, Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association (VWSA) and sewerage companies , it has also built capacity for teachers and in-company trainers on effective training methods and the technical issues of Sewage Engineering Technicians.
