As one of the three first training institutes selected for the pilot implementation of the autonomy policy of Viet Nam, the College of Technology II had the honour to receive Deputy Prime Minister Vũ Đức Đam to the Ceremony of start of the new school year 2016 – 2017 held on November 18, 2016.

At the ceremony, Dr Nguyen Thi Hang, Rector of the college, and Dr Horst Sommer, Director of the “Programme Reform of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Viet Nam” shared the most important results and experiences of the pilot implementation of the cooperative training model for “Sewage Engineering Technicians” with the Deputy Prime Minister. The Deputy Prime Minister and Mr Huynh Van Ti, Vice Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs particularly appreciated the efforts of the college and the support of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in involving enterprises in vocational training. The initial success of this model shows that training which reflects job requirements and meets the needs of the business sector is the key to achieving the quality breakthrough in vocational training. This firm basis will help TVET institutes to successfully develop towards full autonomy, to be recognized by the society as well as to develop sustainably in the context of ASEAN integration.

Being aware that the cooperation with enterprises is key to the development of the College, Dr Nguyen Thi Hang, on behalf the college management and staff, confirmed to the Deputy Prime Minister their dedication to continue the implementation of the pilot cooperative training model for “Sewage Engineering Technicians” and to replicate this model to other occupations for which the college also provides training.
