The 3rd CNC Expert Group Meeting

To further promote the cooperation in the field of CNC training among project training institutions, the 3rd CNC Expert Group Meeting was held, with the support of Promotion of TVET Vietnam, between 21st and 23rd of September 2009 at Vietnam – Germany Industrial College (Thai Nguyen)


Participating in the meeting were 13 CNC experts from 5 selected vocational training institutions namely Hung Yen University of Technology and Education, Nha Trang Vocational College, Ho Chi Minh Technical College of Technology and Vietnam-Germany Industrial College (Thai Nguyen) and Vinh Phuc Vietnam-Germany Vocational College, Mr. Ronald Rimpo (CNC Expert Group Coordinator- DED Expert), Mr. Hanno Knaup (CIM Expert-School Management), Mr. Siegfried Rudolph a German CNC Instructor from European Association for Vocational and Social Education (EBG) and leaders of the hosting institution.

At this meeting, the group focuses their activities on following themes:
–  Maintenance and repair for CNC machines
–  Content and curriculum of CNC-Training courses for different target groups
–  Review of practical exercises assigned in the previous meeting
–  Report writing skills and
–  Discussion on improvements in group organization for future activities

During the meeting, the group had tours at the hosting institution and Vinh Phuc Vietnam- Germany Vocational College with focus on mechanical/CNC workshops. Mr. Siegfried Rudolph (CNC Instructor from EBG) also delivered a briefing session on prospective CNC training programs to be piloted in Vietnam by EBG and GTZ (Promotion of TVET Vietnam) in collaboration with General Department of Vocational Training.

Speaking at the meeting, both Mr. Ronald Rimpo and Mr. Nguyen Manh Tan- Director of Vietnam-Germany Industrial College appreciated the efforts and achievements made by the CNC Expert Group so far and urged them to work harder towards a more self-funded, self-directed and autonomous professional network.

Next meeting of the group is planned to be held at Ho Chi Minh City Technical College of Technology on 30th October 2009.
