Internal Workshop on the implementation process for Cooperative Training at LILAMA 2

Cooperative Training programmes in the four occupations of Industrial Electronics, Mechatronics, Construction Mechanics and Metal Cutting-CNC are currently piloted at the LILAMA 2 International Technology College (LILAMA 2). The application of Cooperative Training, a model of training in which TVET institutes and companies share the responsibilities for the development, delivery and assessment of training offers is an innovation for LILAMA 2. Therefore, 66 teachers, staff and management leaders of LILAMA 2, together with staff from the Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam, met for an internal workshop on the implementation process for Cooperative Training (CT) on 13 May.

The goal of the workshop was to fine-tune a feasible and effective implementation process for Cooperative Training at LILAMA 2 by opening up a forum for discussion on the key issues and challenges of Cooperative Training implementation of the pilot classes between the operative staff and managers of LILAMA 2 as well as GIZ staff. Additionally, the workshop served to onboard teachers currently not involved in Cooperative Training and discuss ideas to improve the cooperation with the business sector to promote LILAMA 2’s Cooperative Training concept.

The participants used the opportunity to discuss interesting challenges such as the break-down of comprehensive training programmes into daily training lessons and the high relevance of In-Company Trainers on the side of the business sector.

The Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
