Under the framework of the “Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam”, the course on “Conventional Metal Cutting: Turning and Milling” was organized from 21st November to 17th December 2011 with cooperation of GIZ, GDVT and Hung Yen University of Technology and Education (HYUTE). This course is a continuation of the course on “Introductory Training and Competence Assessment” for TVET teachers in Metal Cutting that took place in June 2011 in Viet – Duc Industrial College in Song Cong, Thai Nguyen province. The 21 participants of this course were teachers from the partner TVET institutes of the Programme.
The training course aimed at providing these teachers with the fundamental knowledge and skills in conventional Metal Cutting to be able to provide better, more practice-oriented fundamental TVET in this occupational field. Specifically, through the course the necessary foundation was to be laid to conduct the foreseen training on high-tech equipment (like CNC technology) in the future. Mr Do Hoai Vu, a local training expert, and two training assistants, conducted the course under supervision of a German training expert. Mr Vu and the assistants had been trained in Metal Cutting organized by the already accomplished GIZ-project “Promotion of TVET” (2006-2010). |
“This course is a really good chance for us to standardize and consolidate our fundamental knowledge and skills as well as correct our working habits. Without this course, we would have not been able to make our improvement. This course is very valuable for us, the teachers/instructors in Metal Cutting”, a teacher of the course shared his opinion at the end of the course.
All products made by participants in the course had been assessed carefully by the international expert in terms of precision, polish and time of performance. German criteria were applied to examine all products in this course. The course on “Conventional Metal Cutting: Turning and Milling” was a success. Participants received good scores of the course’s final tests, that showing they possess the fundamental competencies necessary to continue to attend further training courses on high-tech equipment to be organized in the near future under the “Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam”. |
